Privacy policy
Last updated: 22 June 2026
Froglet is an English-learning web app. We aim to handle as little of your data as we reasonably can. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. As Froglet grows we may add features such as accounts and paid plans; whenever our data practices change we'll update this policy and the date above.
The short version
- Your learning preferences and progress are saved in your browser so the app works for you.
- We only receive data when you send us feedback, or when the app checks a typed answer.
- We don't sell your personal data.
What we store on your device
To remember your settings and progress, Froglet saves some information in your browser's local storage. This is read by the app to give you a working, personalised experience. It includes:
- your chosen level and source language;
- your light/dark theme preference;
- your progress through topics and vocabulary packs.
You can clear all of it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for Froglet.
Checking your answers
For the typed exercises (gap-fill and translation), the text you enter is sent to our server only to check whether it's correct, and the result is sent straight back. We don't store your answers.
Feedback you send us
If you use the Feedback button, we receive what you choose to send and file it as a support ticket so we can act on it. That is:
- your message and the feedback type (bug / suggestion / other);
- your email address, only if you choose to add one so we can reply;
- the page you were on; and
- basic technical information to help us reproduce issues: your browser and version, screen and window size, theme and app settings, language and time zone, and your approximate country.
We do not store your IP address or your precise location, and we use this information only to understand and fix the issue you reported. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app and in responding to your request.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. As with any website, their servers process technical request data (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. This is standard infrastructure processing; we don't keep our own logs tying that data to you.
Your rights
If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction and erasure. To exercise any of them, contact us (below) and we'll help.
Children
Froglet is a general-audience learning app and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
Contact
The easiest way to reach us is the Feedback button on any page. Use it for privacy questions or requests too, and add your email so we can reply.
